Tolivers helps keep top-ranked Maryland undefeated
Dec 30, 2006 - 6:53 AM COLLEGE PARK, Maryland (Ticker) -- Kristi Toliver and the defending champions continue to roll over opponents.Toliver had 16 points and seven assists to lead six players in double-figures as No. 1 Maryland coasted to a 92-57 victory over UNC Greensboro.
Sa'de Wiley-Gatewood scored 15 points and Marissa Coleman added 13 and nine rebounds for the Terrapins (14-0), who pushed the nation's longest winning streak to 20 games.
Maryland jumped out to a commanding 48-25 bulge in the first half, shooting 57 percent (15-of-26) from the field, and never looked back.
The Terrapins connected for a school-record 12 3-pointers and scored 24 points off 16 turnovers.
Jasmine Dixon scored 15 points and Kaleah Latham added nine for the Spartans (6-9), who shot 35 percent (23-of-64) and forced 23 turnovers.
The setback kept UNC Greensboro coach Lynne Agee stuck at 499 career wins.
