Davis leads high-powered Vanderbilt past Princeton
Dec 30, 2006 - 10:32 PM NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Dee Davis kept Vanderbilt on a roll.Davis scored 18 points as No. 12 Vanderbilt used a hot start en route to an 89-74 victory over Princeton.
Carla Thomas contributed 14 points and Liz Sherwood 12 for the Commodores (12-1), who shot 58 percent (29-of-65) in the first half, when they opened a 53-35 advantage.
Davis shot 5-of-10 from the field and added five rebounds and five assists.
During their winning streak, the Commodores have averaged 90.8 points.
Meagan Cowher, the daughter of Pittsburgh Steelers coach Bill Cowher, scored 21 points to pace Princeton, which shot 42 percent (26-of-62).
