Micheaux, Texas A&M roll past Western Illinois
Jan 3, 2007 - 8:49 AM COLLEGE STATION, Texas (Ticker) -- La Toya Micheaux scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as No. 17 Texas A&M posted a 70-36 victory over Western Illinois.Micheaux shot 7-of-14 from the field, collected five steals and blocked two shots as the Aggies (10-2) won for the fourth straight time.
A'Quonesia Franklin scored 17 points and Takia Starks added 13, seven assists and four steals for Texas A&M, which finished with 20 steals as it recorded 30 points off 29 turnovers by Western Illinois.
Holding the Westerwinds (3-10) to 23 percent (5-of-22) shooting in the first half, the Aggies grabbed a 31-16 lead at the half. Texas A&M extended that advantage by shooting 50 percent (18-of-36) after intermission.
Reserve Stephanie Lovingood was the lone player in double figures with 13 points and pulled down 11 boards for Western Illinois.
