Bowling Greens nips Oklahoma State in NCAA Tourney

Mar 19, 2007 - 4:34 AM EAST LANSING, Michigan (Ticker) -- Ali Mann scored 16 points as seventh-seeded Bowling Green posted 70-66 triumph over No. 10 Oklahoma State 70-66 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament's Greensboro Region.

After overcoming a four-point halftime deficit, the Falcons (30-3) advanced to face No. Vanderbilt in a second-round encounter on Tuesday.

Liz Honegger scored 16 points and Kate Achtner added 15 points as the Falcons registered their first NCAA Tournament victory since 1989.

In a game that featured five ties and eight lead changes, second-chance points proved vital in the outcome. The Falcons grabbed 12 offensive rebounds, which led to 19 second-chance points, while limited Oklahoma State to seven.

Andrea Riley scored 20 points and Taylor Hardeman added 12 points for Oklahoma State (20-11).
