UConn's win streak hits 90 with rout of Pacific

Dec 29, 2010 - 5:50 AM Stockton, CA (Sports Network) - Number 90 was never in doubt.

Maya Moore scored 17 points with eight rebounds, Kelly Paris chipped in with 14 points, seven assists and five rebounds and Tiffany Hayes also scored 14 points, as top-ranked Connecticut pounded Pacific, 85-42.

The game served as a precursor of a bigger west coast showdown on Thursday night at Stanford. The Huskies last loss came to Stanford in the 2008 NCAA semifinals.

The Huskies (12-0) have now won 90 straight games, two more than the 88-game winning streak set by John Wooden's UCLA men's basketball squad from 1971-1974.

Jordan Rogers led Pacific (3-10) with 11 points. The Tigers made just 27.8 percent of their shots, committed 22 turnovers and were overwhelmed by a 30-2 second-half run that turned the game into a laugher.

Connecticut looked to have a case of jet lag early but settled itself and held a 49-19 halftime edge due in large part to a 18-of-20 effort from the charity stripe.
