Griner leads top-ranked Baylor over Oklahoma State
Feb 6, 2011 - 9:31 PM Stillwater, OK (Sports Network) - Brittney Griner led all scorers with 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds, as top-ranked Baylor earned an easy 84-57 win over Oklahoma State in Big 12 action.Destiny Williams finished with 17 points and seven boards, while Melissa Jones turned in a solid performance with 15 points, six assists, and five rebounds for Baylor (21-1, 8-0 Big 12), which has won 18 straight games since losing to Connecticut on November 16.
Vicky McIntyre had a team-high 12 points for Oklahoma State (13-8, 1-7), which has dropped four straight and seven of eight overall. Lindsey Keller and Kendra Suttles went for 11 and 10 points, respectively, in defeat.
Baylor led by a comfortable 43-23 margin at halftime, and never allowed the advantage to get below double-figures throughout the second half.
Carolyn Blair-Mobley's layup drew Oklahoma State within 45-27 early in the second half, but a jumper by Griner and layup from Jones bookended a 10-0 run that gave Baylor a 55-27 lead with 15:18 remaining. The Lady Bears cruised from there.
