ETSU coach Kemp retires after 19 seasons

Mar 12, 2013 - 5:10 PM Johnson City, TN (Sports Network) - East Tennessee State head women's basketball coach Karen Kemp announced her retirement on Tuesday.

Kemp, the 2008 Atlantic Sun Conference Coach of the Year, spent the last 19 seasons with the Lady Bucs, recording a program-best 272 career wins.

"On behalf of our program and the institution, we want to thank coach Kemp for her efforts over these last 19 years," said athletic director Dr. Richard Sander. "During her tenure, our teams have enjoyed championship seasons, but now we're excited about what the future can be for this program. We will begin the process of finding a new head coach immediately."

The Lady Bucs made three consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament from 2008-10.
