No. 10 Maryland blows out Pittsburgh
Feb 7, 2014 - 2:54 AM College Park, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - Alyssa Thomas put up 19 points, seven rebounds and seven assists to lead No. 10 Maryland to a 94-46 drubbing of Pittsburgh.Shatori Walker-Kimbrough and Brionna Jones scored 13 and 12 points, respectively, while the latter added eight rebounds for Maryland (18-4, 6-3 ACC), which snapped a three-game skid.
Loliya Briggs was the lone Panther (10-13, 2-7) in double figures with 10 points as Pittsburgh has dropped six of its last seven.
Maryland jumped out to an early 21-5 lead nearly halfway through the first 20 minutes. The Terrapins stretched the margin with a 17-6 tear to go ahead 40-19 with just under two minutes on the clock. The Panthers trailed 45-21 at the break.
The Terrapins scored 32 of the first 35 points in the second half to stretch their halftime score to an astounding 77-24 margin.
