Mar 9, 2014 - 4:53 AM Oklahoma City, OK (SportsNetwork.com) - Asya Bussie had 18 points and 13 rebounds and No. 7 West Virginia defeated TCU, 67-59, in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 tournament.Taylor Palmer netted 11 points, while Christal Caldwell added 10 for the second-seeded Mountaineers (28-3), who have won 11 straight and will face the winner of the Texas/Oklahoma showdown in the semifinals Sunday.
West Virginia outrebounded the Horned Frogs 42-27 and tallied 20 second-chance points on 20 offensive boards.
Zahna Medley scored 32 points to lead the No. 7 seed TCU (18-14).
After Meagan Hanson made two foul shots to get TCU within 57-56 with 2:21 left, Jess Harlee capped a 6-0 WVU spurt with a layup to put it up 63-56 with 1:04 remaining. TCU never got within less than five the rest of the way.
The game was tied 31-31 at the break.
