Mar 31, 2014 - 1:09 AM Stanford, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Chiney Ogwumike tallied 29 points and 15 rebounds, as the second-seeded Stanford Cardinal made easy work of the third- seeded Penn State Nittany Lions, 82-57, in the semifinals of the Stanford regional of the NCAA Tournament at Maples Pavilion.

Ogwumike shot 10-of-19 from the field and 9-of-10 at the free-throw line for Stanford (32-3), which will play North Carolina in the Elite Eight on Tuesday. Amber Orrange netted 18 points, Mikaela Ruef had a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds and Lili Thompson also poured in 11 points.

For PSU (24-8), Ariel Edwards led the way with 22 points, while Dara Taylor and Talia East netted 11 and 10 points, respectively.

PSU actually held a four-point lead midway through the first half, but it quickly lost control when Stanford ripped off a furious 25-4 run. The Cardinal finished the frame shooting 47.4 percent from the field and carried a comfortable 44-30 lead into intermission.

Stanford's advantage never dipped below 11 in the second stanza, and it used a 17-4 surge late in the game to make it a blowout.

The Cardinal won the rebounding battle, 41-33, and scored 23 points off of 15 PSU turnovers.
