La. Tech tabs Tyler Summitt as women's coach
Apr 1, 2014 - 9:43 PM Ruston, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - Louisiana Tech has hired Tyler Summitt as its new women's basketball coach.Summitt is the son of Basketball Hall of Fame coach Pat Summitt, who led the Tennessee women's team to a record 1,098 wins and eight national titles before retiring in 2012.
Tyler Summitt, 23, recently completed his second season as an assistant at Marquette and replaces Teresa Weatherspoon.
Weatherspoon was fired last month after consecutive losing seasons, the first two in program history.
No one has shouted yet.
