Gault leads Trojans in upset of Aggies

Mar 22, 2015 - 1:23 AM Tempe, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Taylor Gault netted 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting to lead the 11th-seeded Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans past the sixth- seeded Texas A&M Aggies, 69-60, in the first round of the NCAA Women's Tournament at Wells Fargo Arena.

The Trojans (29-4) will advance to the second round of the tournament and will square off against the third-seeded Arizona State Sun Devils on Monday.

Kiera Clark came off the bench to tally a 22-point, 12-rebound double-double for UALR.

Courtney Williams scored 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the double- double to pace Texas A&M (23-10), while Courtney Walker chipped in with 10 points in the defeat. Khaalia Hillsman secured 10 rebounds for the Aggies.

Arkansas-Little Rock limited Texas A&M to 37.9 percent shooting in the contest, and held a 24-10 advantage in bench scoring in the victory. The Trojans also owned a 16-6 edge in points off turnovers over the Aggies.
