No. 15 Baylor eases past Howard
Nov 10, 2007 - 5:54 AM WACO, Texas (Ticker) -- Danielle Wilson scored 16 points to lead No. 15 Baylor to an 83-31 romp over Howard in the Basketball Travelers Tip-Off Tournament on Friday.Jessika Bradley registered her first career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds and Jhasmin Player added 10 points for the Lady Bears, who bolted to a 47-8 halftime lead.
It was the fewest points ever allowed in a half by Baylor. The previous low was nine on two occasions.
Baylor limited Howard to just 11 percent shooting (3-of-28) in the opening 20 minutes.
The Lady Bears outrebounded Howard by an overwhelming 63-24 margin, with Melissa Jones grabbing a team-high 11 boards.
Asha Santee scored 10 points to lead Howard, which shot 3-of-23 from 3-point range.
