No. 24 Chattanooga women beat Southern Miss 53-48 in OT

Nov 21, 2015 - 1:49 AM CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) Moses Johnson hit three free throws in the final 11 seconds of overtime and Jasmine Joyner scored 20 points with 13 rebounds and six blocked shots to help No. 24 Chattanooga women beat Southern Miss 53-48 Friday night.

Keiana Gilbert scored 12 points for Chattanooga (3-1) which overcame a 5-point second quarter during which it made just 1 of 13 shots and allowed a 13-point lead turn into a 25-20 halftime deficit.

Joyner made a layup and Alicia Payne a jumper to give Chattanooga a 50-47 lead with 1:16 left in overtime. Jayla King made 1 of 2 free throws to pull Southern Miss (1-2) within 2, but the Golden Eagles missed their last three shots and Johnson hit 3 of 4 free throws in the final seconds to seal it.

Jerontay Clemons scored 15 while Caitlin Jenkins had 14 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots for Southern Miss.
