No. 13 Stanford women beat Purdue in OT, 71-65 at Gulf Coast

(AP) Briana Roberson scored a career-high 26 points, Lili Thompson added 17 and No. 13 Stanford needed overtime to hold off Purdue, 71-65 in the championship game of the Gulf Coast Classic Sunday.Erica McCall gave Stanford the lead on two free throws halfway through overtime and Roberson fed Johnson for a clutch 3-pointer, then knocking down five straight free throws to set the final margin with :11 left.
Andreona Keys and Bridget Perry hit back-to-back jumpers, the last with :49 left in regulation to give the Boilermakers the lead, 59-57, but Perry fouled Roberson with :33 left and she converted both free throws to tie the game.
Roberson was 7 of 12 from the field, including 5 of 6 from beyond the arc. McCall added 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Stanford (6-1).
April Wilson scored 17 points and Ashley Morrissette added 16 to lead Purdue (5-1).
