Maryland cruises past Delaware in WNIT

Nov 14, 2007 - 3:10 AM COLLEGE PARK, Maryland (Ticker) -- Kristi Toliver had 19 points and 10 assists and Marissa Coleman added 16 points Tuesday to lead No. 3 Maryland to a 91-43 victory over Delaware in the quarterfinals of the WNIT.

Ashleigh Newman scored 18 points and Jade Perry added 11 and 15 rebounds for the Terrapins (3-0), who played for the second time without star forward Crystal Langhorne. The senior sat out with a sprained ankle.

Maryland will host No. 25 Notre Dame in a semifinal on Friday.

The Terrapins, who never trailed, shot 47 percent from the field and dominated inside, finishing with 28 points in the paint and outrebounding Delaware, 57-27.

Vanessa Kabongo had 11 points and Courtney Irving had nine points and six rebounds for the Blue Hens, who were without leading scorer Kyle DeHaven.

The senior guard broke her right hand in Friday's win over Delaware State and is expected to be out two to four weeks.
