Gant, Micheaux lead Texas A&M to easy win over Prairie View
Nov 16, 2007 - 4:54 AM COLLEGE STATION, Texas (Ticker) -- Danielle Gant scored 17 points and reserve La Toya Micheaux had 15 and 10 rebounds as No. 11 Texas A&M posted a 73-54 victory over Prairie View on Thursday.Takia Starks scored 14 points and Katrina Limbaha scored 12 off the bench for the Aggies (2-0), who have won 19 consecutive home games and are 15-3 all-time in home openers.
Gant connected on 6-of-11 from the floor while Micheaux was 9-of-10 from the free-throw line. The 6-3 Micheaux, whose father Larry was a member of the famed Phi Slamma Jamma basketball fraternity at the University of Houston in the 1980's, posted her third career double-double.
Gaati Werema scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Candice Thomas and Dominique Smith each had 10 for the Lady Panthers (1-3), who shot 47 percent (20-of-43) and have dropped three in a row.
