McLean leads St. John's to upset of North Carolina State
Nov 18, 2007 - 12:10 AM BURLINGTON, Vermont (Ticker) -- Monique McLean recorded a double-double to lead St. John's to a 60-55 victory over No. 24 North Carolina State on Saturday in the the TD Banknorth Classic.McLean led St. John's (2-0) with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Kelly McManmon and Sky Lindsay had 13 and 10 points respectively for the Red Storm.
Khadijah Whittington had 18 points and 18 rebounds and Nikitta Gartrell scored 10 points for the Wolfpack.
St. John's led 28-20 at the half and McManmon hit a pair of free throws to push the cushion to, 51-44, with just over two minutes to play. NC State never got any closer than five the rest of the way.
