Michigan State routs Northern Illinois in Caribbean Challenge
Nov 21, 2007 - 10:23 PM CANCUN, Mexico (Ticker) -- Allyssa DeHaan scored 17 points Wednesday as 18th-ranked Michigan State routed Northern Illinois, 67-40, in the opening contest of the Caribbean Classic.DeHaan shot 7-of-11 from the floor and made all three of her free throws to pace three Spartans in double figures.
Kalisha Keane scored 15 points and Alisa Wulff chipped in 11 for Michigan State (3-1), which raced to a 31-16 halftime lead and cruised after the break.
The Spartans enjoyed a 29-17 edge on the glass and harassed Northern Illinois into 18 turnovers.
Reserve Kyle York made four 3-pointers and finished with 14 points for Northern Illinois (2-2), which shot just 32 percent (16-of-50).
