Lueders scores career high as Vanderbilt defeats Iowa State

Nov 26, 2007 - 1:12 AM NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Lauren Lueders scored a career-high 14 points to lead No. 19 Vanderbilt to a 62-53 victory over Iowa State in the championship game of the Vanderbilt Thanksgiving Tournament on Sunday.

Tournament MVP Christina Wirth added 10 points and six assists for the Commodores (5-1). Merideth Marsh scored 11 points and Amber Norton finished with 10.

Nicky Wieben had 15 points and nine rebounds for Iowa State (3-1).

After trailing at the half by 29-23, the Cyclones cut the Commodores' lead to two at 35-33 on a 3-pointer by Heather Ezell with 15:28 to go. Vanderbilt then went on a 5-0 run to extend the lead to seven points, 40-33.

Iowa State got not closer than five points thereafter.
