Wiggins' big second half helps Stanford avoid upset

THOMAS, Virgin Islands (Ticker) -- Candice Wiggins scored 13 of her 22 points in the second half Sunday to help fourth-ranked Stanford rally for a 63-54 win over Temple in the Paradise Jam.Jayne Appel added 16 for the Cardinal, who used a 13-0 run to take a 61-52 lead with one minute remaining.
The Cardinal (5-1) shot just 32 percent (9-for-28) from the floor in the first half and trailed, 39-22, at the break.
However, Stanford opened the second half on a 17-0 run to take a 41-39 lead and held Temple to just five field goals in the second half.
Ashley Morris scored 19 points and Lady Comfort added 14 for the Owls (2-4), who held a 37-27 rebounding edge.
