Moore, Charles help Connecticut rout Brigham Young
Nov 30, 2007 - 2:35 AM STORRS, Connecticut (Ticker) -- Maya Moore scored 17 points and Mel Thomas added 14 as No. 2 Connecticut rolled to a 80-34 victory over Brigham Young on Thursday.Tina Charles added 11 points and 12 rebounds for Connecticut, which shot 52 percent (33-of-63) from the floor.
Moore became the first freshman in school history to score in double figures in each of her first six starts. Moore hit 8-of-12 from the floor and helped the Huskies (6-0) open the game with a 23-0 run.
Shawnee Slade scored 10 points for BYU (3-3), which shot just 26 percent (13-of-50).
