Raven scores 16 to lead Texas
Nov 30, 2007 - 4:33 AM AUSTIN, Texas (Ticker) --Brittainey Raven led all five starters in double figures with 16 points as 25th-ranked Texas beat Texas-Arlington, 76-60, on Thursday.Carla Cortijo added 12 points and seven assists and Ashley Lindsey chipped in 14 points for the Longhorns (5-2), who made just 11-of-21 shots from the free-throw line. Texas held a 35-28 lead despite shooting just 30 percent (13-of-43) from the floor, but shot 57 percent (17-of-30) after the break to pull away.
Tamara Simmons scored 11 points and Maryann Abanobi added 10 for the Maveric (3-2), who shot 32 percent (20-of-62).
