No. 21 South Florida women top Temple 76-62 for 2nd in AAC

(AP) Shaleth Stringfield had 20 points and Alisia Jenkins had 18 with 16 rebounds and No. 21 South Florida secured second place in the American Athletic Conference on Saturday with a 76-62 win over Temple.Courtney Williams added 13 points and eight assists for the Bulls (21-7, 14-3).
Temple (18-10, 12-5), which won the first meeting 68-66, got 16 points, seven rebounds and seven assists from Feyonda Fitzgerald and 15 points from Tanaya Atkinson.
South Florida ended the first half with an 8-0 run to lead 41-31 but the Owls scored the first seven of the third quarter. That's when Jenkins, who had four career 3-pointers, hit back-to-back treys to push the lead back to nine.
The Bulls, who were without high-scoring freshman Kitija Laksa who missed her second game with a sprained ankle, led by 12 entering the fourth quarter and led by double figures the rest of the way.
