Noe, Dosty power No. 15 Arizona State past Gonzaga

Dec 1, 2007 - 3:57 AM TEMPE, Arizona (Ticker) -- Jill Noe and Sybil Dosty each scored 16 points as No. 15 Arizona State defeated Gonzaga, 78-60, on Friday in the first round of the ASU Classic.

Lauren Lacey scored 13 points for the Sun Devils (4-2), who led 40-30 at halftime. Noe added four steals for Arizona State.

Heather Bowman scored a game-high 20 points and also had a game-high 11 rebounds for the Lady Bulldogs (4-2), but it wasn't enough as no other Gonzaga player had more than seven points. Gonzaga missed 19 of its first 27 shots.

Noe made three 3-pointers, including one during a 13-0 run in the first half, that gave the Sun Devils a 15-point lead. Arizona State used a 10-0 spurt, started and ended by Noe, to build a 61-42 lead with 12:45 left.

Dosty, a Tennessee transfer, added nine rebounds for the Sun Devils, who committed nine turnovers in the first 12 minutes but hit five straight 3-pointers to stretch its lead. Lacey, a transfer from Minnesota, also had five rebounds.
