Lavender, Ohio State end two-game losing streak
Dec 2, 2007 - 8:44 PM COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) -- Jantel Lavender scored 24 points and grabbed 15 rebounds as No. 17 Ohio State recorded a 69-55 victory over Mississippi on Sunday.Lavender made 8-of-12 shots and hauled in four offensive boards as the Buckeyes snapped a two-game losing streak.
Ashlee Trebilcock scored 18 points and Star Allen added eight and eight rebounds for Ohio State (6-2), which trailed 51-48 with 8:06 remaining before ripping off a 17-0 run over the next seven minutes.
Shantell Black scored 15 points and Elizabeth Robertson and Kayla Melson chipped in 10 apiece for Mississippi (3-3), which shot 9-of-30 (30 percent) in the second half and finished with 20 turnovers.
