Raven carries Texas past Sam Houston
Dec 3, 2007 - 12:43 AM AUSTIN, Texas (Ticker) -- Brittainey Raven collected 19 points and seven assists to lead No. 25 Texas to a convincing 91-41 victory over San Houston State on Sunday.Earnesia Williams and Lindsey Ashley each had 12 points and six rebounds for the Longhorns, who created an impressive 39-14 edge through the opening 20 minutes.
Texas (6-2) was able to accomplish that on the defensive end, registering a season-best 17 steals en route to recording 33 points off 23 turnovers.
Lydia Gonzales had 12 and nine boards and Whitney Smith also scored 12 for the Bearkats (1-7), who were held to 23 percent (15-of-64) shooting from the field.
