Fowles powers No. 7 LSU past Tulane
Dec 3, 2007 - 12:48 AM NEW ORLEANS (Ticker) -- Sylvia Fowles had 17 points and 13 rebounds on Sunday, leading No. 7 Louisiana State to a 52-36 victory over Tulane.Allison Hightower scored 15 points for LSU, which forced 21 turnovers. Ashley Thomas and Mesha Williams each had seven rebounds for the Lady Tigers.
The Green Wave (6-2) were ice-cold from the field, shooting 18.2 percent (4-of-22) in a first half that ended with the Lady Tigers (5-2) leading 22-10. Tulane finished the game at 25.5 percent (14-of-55).
LSU scored the game's first 10 points and took its biggest lead of the game at 40-15 on a foul shot by Williams with 8:53 to play.
Nikki Luckhurst led the Green Wave with nine points. Brittany Lindsey and Alendra Brown each had eight rebounds for Tulane.
