Tennessee Tech hires Rosamond as women's basketball coach

Mar 31, 2016 - 9:48 PM COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Tennessee Tech has hired Vanderbilt assistant Kim Rosamond as its head coach for women's basketball.

The school announced Rosamond's selection Thursday.

Rosamond was hired at Vanderbilt before the 2007-08 season and had been there ever since. She also was an assistant on Middle Tennessee's staff from 2003-05. Rosamond played at Ole Miss from 1995-98 and spent five years there as an assistant.

In a release announcing the move, Rosamond said ''we will work relentlessly on and off the court to make our university, alumni and the Cookeville community proud.''

Rosamond replaces Jim Davis, who retired after going 47-72 in four seasons. Tennessee Tech went 10-19 this season under Davis, who had led Clemson to 355 wins and 14 NCAA Tournament appearances from 1987-2005.
