Podziemska, Wyoming edge Iowa

Dec 9, 2007 - 9:33 PM IOWA CITY, Iowa (Ticker) -- Justyna Podziemska had 14 points and eight rebounds and Aubrey Vandiver scored 14 as No. 22 Wyoming posted a 54-50 victory over Iowa on Sunday.

Hanna Zavecz collected 11 points, four steals and two blocks to help the Cowgirls (8-1) capture the Hawkeye Challenge.

After building a 28-18 edge at intermission, Wyoming barely survived in the second half as it was outscored 32-26 and shot just 37 percent (9-of-34) from the field.

Megan Skouby led the charge with 15 points for Iowa (6-4), which shot 39 percent (21-of-53) and committed 13 turnovers.
