Fowles helps LSU extend December winning streak
Dec 20, 2007 - 2:42 AM CANCUN, Mexico (Ticker) -- Sylvia Fowles scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to help No. 8 Louisiana State post a 63-52 victory over Miami on Wednesday in the Caribbean Classic.Fowles, who scored 17 points in a win over Illinois-Chicago on Tuesday, shot 5-of-7 from the floor to help the Lady Tigers extend their December winning streak to 33 games.
Quianna Chaney added 16 points for LSU, which used an 11-2 run to take a 31-23 lead at the break.
LSU (9-2), which held a 22-12 advantage in points in the paint, has not lost in December since 2001.
Albrey Grimsley led Miami (5-7) with 16 points.
