Gray-Lawson scores 25 as California trounces Kansas
Dec 22, 2007 - 6:02 AM BERKELEY, California (Ticker) -- Alexis Gray-Lawson scored 25 points to lead No. 12 California to an easy 74-41 victory over Kansas on Friday.Natasha Vital scored 14 points and Lauren Greif added 10 and nine rebounds for the Golden Bears (9-2), who were playing for the first time in 11 days following the school's exam break.
Gray-Lawson, who tore her ACL in a game against Kansas last December and missed the rest of the season, sparked the Cal offense with 12 points in the first 11 minutes as the team opened up a 37-19 halftime advantage.
Sade Morris scored 10 points to lead the Wildcats (9-2), who managed just 31 percent shooting (15-of-49) from the floor and were outrebounded, 37-30.
The Golden Bears forced 23 turnovers en route to the easy win.
