Arkansas remains unbeaten with win over Delaware

Dec 30, 2007 - 4:26 AM HANOVER, New Hampshire (Ticker) -- Lauren Ervin led all scorers with 16 points and also had 13 rebounds as No. 23 Arkansas defeated Delaware, 62-49, on Saturday to advance to the championship round of the Blue Sky Classic.

It was the seventh double-double of the season for Ervin.

Arkansas (13-0) will faces Marquette, which advanced with a 64-61 victory over host Dartmouth, in Sunday's championship game.

Ervin was limited by early fouls in the first half, but sparked a 7-0 second half-opening run with four straight points. The quick start enabled Arkansas to take a 15-point lead at 49-34 with just under 10 minutes to play.

Defense was the difference as the Lady Razorbacks held the Blue Hens to only 31 percent shooting (19-for-61) in the game.

Ayana Brereton scored 15 points and Charity Ford added 10 for Arkansas. Whitney Jones had nine points and nine rebounds for the Lady Razorbacks.
