Maryland makes 17 3-pointers, rout Maryland-Baltimore County
Dec 30, 2007 - 9:28 PM COLLEGE PARK, Maryland (Ticker) -- Marissa Coleman made six of her team's 17 pointers as fifth-ranked Maryland bombed its way to a 98-56 victory over Maryland-Baltimore County on Sunday in the Terrapin Classic.Maryland (16-1) shot 17-of-28 (61 percent) from the arc for the game, setting the Atlantic Coast Conference record for made 3-pointers in a contest.
Coleman finished with 18 points and Kristi Toliver added 17 and eight assists for the Terrapins, who outrebounded UMBC, 44-11.
Carlee Cassidy scored 24 points to lead the Retrievers (4-10), who trailed, 57-30, at the half.
