DePaul trounces Appalachian State

Dec 31, 2007 - 5:29 AM SAN DIEGO (Ticker) -- Deirdre Naughton scored 23 points and Caprice Smith added 18 as No. 13 DePaul pounded Appalachian State, 111-64, on Sunday.

The Blue Demons (11-1) made 13-of-24 3-pointers (54 percent) en route to their highest point total since scoring 118 against Northwestern on November 27, 2004.

DePaul scored the game's first 11 points and led, 62-42, at the half. The Blue Demons held Appalachian State to just 30 percent shooting (8-of-27) in the second half as it further put the game out of reach.

Sam Ramirez had 19 points and Brittany Mixon added 15 and 11 rebounds for the Mountaineers (2-10), who were outrebounded, 45-31.
