Dietz sparks Kansas State's upset of Texas A&M
Jan 10, 2008 - 3:47 AM COLLEGE STATION, Texas (Ticker) -- Kimberly Dietz scored 20 points and Ashley Sweat added 14 to lead Kansas State to a 67-54 upset of No. 12 Texas A&M on Wednesday.Takia Starks scored 17 points for the Aggies (12-3, 0-1 Big 12), who shot just 30 percent (19-of-62) from the floor.
The Wildcats (9-5, 1-0) opened conference play with a flourish, shooting 51 percent (23-of-45) from the floor and sealed the win with a game-ending 18-9 run. Dietz, who shot 6-of-13 from the floor, scored eight points during the decisive run.
Danielle Gant scored 14 points for Texas A&M, which had its three-game winning streak snapped.
