Ajavon, Prince lead Rutgers past Seton Hall

Jan 12, 2008 - 11:56 PM PISCATAWAY, New Jersey (Ticker) -- Matee Ajavon scored 21 points and Epiphanny Prince and Kia Vaughn each added a double-double to lead No. 5 Rutgers to a 69-47 victory over Seton Hall in a Big East Conference matchup on Saturday.

Ajavon was 8-of-13 from the field and added five rebounds and five assists for Rutgers (13-2, 2-0 Big East), which led 33-17 at the half.

Prince chipped in with 19 points and 10 rebounds while Vaughn added 10 points and 12 boards.

The Scarlet Knights' eighth straight win was clinched early on as they jumped out to a 23-4 lead. Rutgers has now won seven straight against Seton Hall.

Jadis Rhodin scored 17 points and Amber Harris added 10 for Seton Hall (11-3, 2-1), which shot 54 percent (14-of-26) in the second half but was unable to overcome Rutgers' big lead.
