Walker helps California roll past Oregon State
Jan 13, 2008 - 12:29 AM BERKELEY, California (Ticker) -- Ashley Walker scored 17 points in just 25 minutes as No. 9 California defeated Oregon State, 61-45, in a Pac-10 Conference contest on Saturday.Walker made 7-of-11 shots and grabbed seven rebounds for the Bears (15-2, 6-0 Pac-10), who posted their seventh straight victory.
Devanei Hampton, the reigning Pac-10 Player of the Year, recorded a double-double for California with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
The Bears shot 54 percent (27-of-50) while holding Oregon State to just 26 percent (15-of-57). California took control early, building a 42-21 lead at the half.
Talisha Rhea scored 16 points and Cedes Fox-Griffin added 10 for the Beavers (8-8, 1-4).
