Nash leads Texas past Iowa State
Jan 17, 2008 - 4:12 AM AUSTIN, Texas (Ticker) -- Kathleen Nash scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead No. 23 Texas past Iowa State, 59-56, in the Big 12 Conference on Wednesday.Carla Cortijo scored 13 and Brittainey Raven added 10 to join Nash in double figures for Texas (13-4, 1-2 Big 12), which avoided its first 0-3 start in Big 12 play.
Nash connected on 3-of-5 3-point attempts, Cortijo nailed a 3-pointer with two minutes left to put Texas up 55-54, and Raven had a key block in the final seconds for the Longhorns.
Kelsy Bolte scored 20 to lead Iowa State (12-4, 1-2), which shot just 39 percent (21-of-54) from the floor. The Cyclones turned the ball over 16 times.
