Sanni's 17 points leads West Virginia past Marshall
Jan 24, 2008 - 1:32 AM CHARLESTON, West Virginia (Ticker) -- Olayinka Sanni scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as No. 12 West Virginia posted a 58-51 victory over Marshall on Wednesday.Ashley Powell scored 13 points and handed out five assists and LaQuita Owens had 11 and six boards for the Mountaineers (15-3), who have won six of seven vs. the Thundering Herd and lead the overall series, 31-15.
Sanni, who is coming off a 43-point, 31-rebound week in games against Marquette and St. John's to earn Big East's Player of the Week honors, connected on 8-of-11 shots from the field to help West Virginia post a 34-6 advantage in points in the paint.
Kizzy Hart was the only player to score in double figures for Marshall (11-8, 3-2), which has lost two straight and three of four.
