Oklahoma pounds Texas Tech to get back on track
Jan 24, 2008 - 5:54 AM NORMAN, Oklahoma (Ticker) -- Amanda Thompson scored 16 points to lead five players in double figures as No. 11 Oklahoma posted a 78-39 victory over Texas Tech in the Big 12 Conference on Wednesday.Thompson finished 8-of-13 from the field and Courtney Paris added 10 points and 10 rebounds for her 77th straight double-double as the Sooners (12-4, 3-2 Big 12) rebounded from Sunday's 84-73 loss to Baylor.
Jenna Plumley and Danielle Robinson had 12 points apiece for Oklahoma, which shot 55 percent (17-of-31) in the first half en route to a 40-18 lead at the break.
Maria Moore scored 15 points, but committed seven of the Red Raiders' 23 turnovers. The Sooners converted those miscues into 22 points.
Texas Tech (13-6, 1-4) shot 25.5 percent (14-of-55) in losing for the fifth time in six games.
