Canady leads ODU past Delaware
Jan 27, 2008 - 10:05 PM NEWARK, Delaware (Ticker) -- Jessica Canady collected 19 points and 15 rebounds as 18th-ranked Old Dominion coasted to a 76-37 rout of Delaware in a Colonial Athletic Association mismatch Sunday.Sparked by Canady, the Lady Monarchs (16-3, 7-0 CAA) extended their winning streak to 10 games. Eight of the wins during the run have come by double digits.
Canady made 7-of-11 shots and also registered three blocks in 24 dominating minutes.
Jazzmin Walters added 10 points for the Lady Monarchs, who built a 34-14 halftime lead.
Delaware (4-15) played itself out of the game thanks to 15 percent (5-of-34) shooting in the first half. The Fightin Blue Hens shot 20 percent (12-of-59) overall and committed 21 turnovers.
