Wiggins, Appel lead Stanford to sixth straight win
Feb 1, 2008 - 6:53 AM PALO ALTO, California (Ticker) -- Candice Wiggins and Jayne Appel scored 18 points apiece as seventh-ranked Stanford routed Southern California, 77-51, in the Pac-10 Conference on Thursday.Appel shot 9-of-10 from the field and grabbed eight rebounds for the Cardinal (18-3, 8-2 Pac-10), who shot 49 percent (29-of-59) in winning their sixth straight game.
Jillian Harmon and Rosalyn Gold-Onwude had 10 points apiece for Stanford, which forced USC into 29 turnovers.
Brynn Cameron scored 16 points and Kari LaPlante added 12 for the Trojans (13-8, 6-4), who had a three-game winning streak snapped.
