Marlow's 19 points helps Georgetown topple Syracuse
Feb 3, 2008 - 12:40 AM WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- Reserve Kieraah Marlow scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds as Georgetown posted a 78-71 Big East Conference victory over No. 22 Syracuse on Saturday.Shanice Fuller had 16 points and six rebounds and freshman Monica McNutt scored 13 for the Hoyas (12-9, 2-6 Big East), who have won seven of their last nine meetings with the Orange.
Marlow connected on 5-of-9 shots from the floor and 9-of-12 from the foul line in helping Georgetown defeat a ranked opponent for the first time in four years. Fuller also had three steals for the Hoyas, who shot 49 percent (25-of-51) and scored 22 points off 14 turnovers by Syracuse.
Nicole Michael scored 16 points and Fantasia Goodwin added 14 off the bench for the Orange (17-4, 5-3), who shot 42 percent (25-of-60) in witnessing their three-game winning streak end.
