Swanier lead balanced attack as Connecticut rolls
Feb 3, 2008 - 4:50 AM STORRS, Connecticut (Ticker) -- Ketia Swanier scored 17 points off the bench and Maya Moore had 16 as top-ranked Connecticut remained undefeated with Saturday's 80-54 win over Providence in the Big East.Tina Charles dominated the paint with 15 points and 11 rebounds and Kaili McLaren scored 11 for the Huskies, who scored 23 points off 22 turnovers.
Connecticut (21-0, 8-0 Big East) shot a blistering 63 percent (19-of-30) from the field in the opening 20 minutes to forge a commanding 49-23 advantage at intermission.
Brittany Dorsey scored 14 points and Kendria Holmes chipped in 13 for Providence (11-10, 1-7), which shot 37 percent (22-of-59) and was outscored 42-8 in the paint.
