DeGraffenreid, hot shooting lead North Carolina's rout
Feb 8, 2008 - 3:00 AM CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Cetera DeGraffenreid had 20 points and seven assists as third-ranked North Carolina led from start to finish en route to an easy 79-47 victory over Clemson in an Atlantic Coast Conference mismatch on Thursday.Jessica Breland had 13 points and 10 rebounds off the bench and Erlana Larkins added 12 and 13 for the Tar Heels, who shot 54 percent (32-of-59) from the field.
North Carolina (21-2, 8-0 ACC) remained the only unbeaten team in conference play and jumped out to a 46-18 lead at the break before leading by as many as 46 with 11:06 left in the game.
The win was also the 500th career victory for Tar Heels coach Sylvia Hatchell.
Sthefany Thomas had 14 points and Lele Hardy added 11 and 14 rebounds for the Tigers (10-14, 3-6), who shot a dismal 24 percent (17-of-70) for the game.
