Wiggins shines as Stanford blasts Oregon
Feb 8, 2008 - 6:23 AM EUGENE, Oregon (Ticker) -- Candice Wiggins had 25 points and eight rebounds to help lead No. 6 Stanford to a 72-43 victory over Oregon in Thursday's Pac-10 Conference matchup.Kayla Pederson scored 17 points and Jayne Appel added 14 and eight boards for the Cardinal (21-3, 10-2 Pac-10), who wasted no time taking care of business in this one.
Stanford shot a blistering 58 percent (20-of-34) from the floor in the opening half en route to an eye-popping 46-12 advantage at intermission.
Nicole Canepa netted 12 points to lead the charge for the Ducks (10-13, 4-8), who shot just 32 percent (18-of-56) and committed 15 turnovers.
