Parker, Tennessee bounce back against Vanderbilt
Feb 17, 2008 - 11:18 PM NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Candace Parker scored 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds Sunday as No. 1 Tennessee bounced back from a rare setback with an 81-68 dismantling of Vanderbilt in a Southeastern Conference battle.Angie Bjorklund added 15 points and Alex Fuller came off the bench to chip in 14 for the Lady Volunteers, who shot 52 percent (29-of-56) and scored 29 points off 24 turnovers.
Tennessee (23-2, 9-1 SEC) was finishing up a tough week that included a controversial 59-58 victory over Rutgers on Monday and a 78-62 loss against Louisiana State on Thursday.
After melting down in the second half against the LSU, the Lady Volunteers outscored Vanderbilt (19-7, 8-3), 39-32, after the break on Sunday.
Christina Wirth scored 14 points and Merideth Marsh added 11 for the Commodores, who lost to Tennessee for the 15th straight time.
