Starks pours in 29 as Texas A&M downs Texas Tech
Feb 18, 2008 - 12:38 AM COLLEGE STATION, Texas (Ticker) -- Takia Starks scored a career-high 29 points to lead No. 19 Texas A&M to a 70-56 victory over Texas Tech on Sunday in a Big 12 Conference battle.Danielle Gant added 15 points and nine rebounds and Starks finished 4-of-7 from the arc for the Aggies, who forced 24 turnovers and pulled down 15 offensive rebounds, leading to 17 second-chance points.
Texas A&M (18-7, 6-5 Big 12) led from start to finish, carrying a 34-28 lead into the break and extending the advantage in the second half. The Aggies shot 50 percent (12-of-24) in the final 20 minutes.
Dominic Seals scored 18 points on 5-of-8 shooting to lead the way for Texas Tech (14-11, 2-9), which lost its fifth straight game.
