Gant, strong first half carry Texas A&M
Feb 21, 2008 - 4:55 AM COLLEGE STATION, Texas (Ticker) -- Danielle Gant had 22 points and seven rebounds as No. 19 Texas A&M cruised to a 60-46 victory over Big 12 Conference rival Iowa State on Wednesday.The Aggies (19-7, 7-5 Big 12) broke the game open midway through the first half with a 20-0 run that gave the home team a 30-9 bulge with 3:05 left before halftime. Gant had eight points during the spurt.
No other Texas A&M player scored in double figures, but the Aggies committed just four turnovers and led by at least nine points for the entire second half.
Heather Ezell scored 14 points and Alison Lacey added 11 and seven rebounds for the Cyclones (16-9, 5-7), who shot 38 percent (16-of-42) from the floor.
